It seems nothing can slow down Aussie rock icon Jimmy Barnes, who recently shared an update with fans, highlighting his impressive recovery from hip surgery.
The positive update comes after the Working Class Man hitmaker shocked fans when he shared the unfortunate news that he had been admitted to hospital recently after a “twinge” in his hip became “unbearable” and was to undergo “a remedial medical procedure ASAP”.
Any concerns for his well-being have quickly faded after several updates in which Barnes showcased his remarkable resilience following his hospitalisation. In his latest update, he revealed he’s now ditched the crutches for support and even takes on a flight of stairs.
“Stair man here. I’m off the crutches too. My mate Chef Andy from @barvincentsydney sent me an incredible dinner,” he began.
“I can’t stop smiling. I’ve been so good they’ll have to let me go soon. The physios have been brilliant, what a team. Thank you.”

Fans were impressed by Barnes’ progress and congratulated the 68-year-old on “the good work.”
“Well done jimmy keep up the good work,” one wrote.
“Woo hoo. Go Jimmy.”
“Well done 👏 Congratulations on your great achievement,” commented another.
“Looking great Jimmy. Wishing you a speedy continued recovery!”
“You are progressing so well.”
Barnes’ speedy recovery should come as no surprise to fans after he bounced back quickly following a bout of bacterial pneumonia that saw him undergo open-heart surgery late last year after the infection spread.
Much like he has recently, Barnes swiftly overcame any concerns, making significant strides in his recovery and sharing uplifting updates.
He eventually made a triumphant return to the stage to deliver a stellar performance at Bluesfest earlier this year.
Barnes kicked off his set with the classic hit Working Class Man, declaring to the crowd, “It’s good to be here. It’s good to be f***ing anywhere.”
Joined by fellow Bluesfest performers and some surprise guests, Barnes delivered an electrifying performance that left the crowd in awe. Guitar virtuoso Tommy Emmanuel and vocalist Josh Teskey were among those who joined Barnes on stage, adding to the spectacle.
