About Phillip Portman

There’s no rash too unsightly to put Phillip Portman off a health story! Phillip, who has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Journalism from Griffith University, no longer works at Starts at 60 but while he did, he covered everything from bunions to brain health for Starts at 60. Phillip wasn’t always a health writer, though. He started his journalism career in men’s magazines in Sydney, writing lifestyle stories, and also spent a year in England where he covered entertainment for The Daily Star, one of Britain’s best-known tabloid newspapers. That year saw him storm plenty of red carpets to nab exclusive interviews with whichever reality television star was making headlines that week and consume more banal-but-strangely-fascinating TV than he ever thought possible.
