Meghan Markle’s most recent publicity stunt has drawn criticism from across the globe, and as sure as the sun rises, Piers Morgan has added his two cents, savaging the Duchess of Sussex on social media.
In an interview published in The Cut, Markle spoke out against the royal family, saying her existence was upsetting to the Firm and made radical claims such as likening the celebration of her wedding to the release of South African leader Nelson Mandela from jail.
“Just by existing, we were upsetting the dynamic of the hierarchy. So we go, ‘Okay, fine, let’s get out of here. Happy to,’ ” Markle said.

In a barrage of posts shared on Twitter, Morgan attacked Markle for her “shameless and shameful” interview.
Even by Markle standards, this is a revoltingly self-aggrandising, disingenuous & hypocritical load of royal-bashing tosh. The Mandela anecdote alone had me gagging. How dare she use her title to keep trashing the institution that gave it to her? Shameless & shameful. https://t.co/rsoGkGVjHh

The controversial British personality made sure to include Prince Harry in his attacks, calling the Prince a “halfwit doormat husband” in his defence of the Monarchy against Markle’s claims.
How much more fork-tongued mud-slinging crap are the Royals going to take from Princess Pinocchio before the Queen strips her and her halfwit doormat husband of the titles they are exploiting so cynically to the highest bidders?
It’s such an outrageous abuse of royal status. pic.twitter.com/4NdYKrY8o0— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) August 30, 2022
Continuing his takedown of Markle, Piers shared a range of media takes on the contentious interview to prove everyone’s “sick of Markle’s bullshit”.
This might be the most withering, excoriating takedown of Princess Pinocchio to date, by the @nypost’s brilliantly acerbic Maureen Callahan.
America’s as sick of Markle’s bullsh*t as we are. https://t.co/FJmn0zYu9R— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) August 30, 2022
Good to see a top ITV news journalist calling out Markle’s lies… just hope he still has his job by tomorrow. ???? https://t.co/q0RQVBWyTm

In the same interview, Markle said reconciliation with the Royal Family is on the cards, as “forgiveness is really important”.
“It takes a lot more energy to not forgive,” she said.
“But it takes a lot of effort to forgive. I’ve really made an active effort, especially knowing that I can say anything.
“I have a lot to say until I don’t. Do you like that? Sometimes, as they say, the silent part is still part of the song.”
