‘Princess Pinocchio’: Piers Morgan tears into Meghan Markle following podcast debut

In what will come as little surprise to many, controversial British broadcaster Piers Morgan has once again criticised Meghan Markle for claims she made during the debut of her podcast Archetypes.

For her debut episode titled The Misconception of Ambition, Markle spoke with retired tennis legend Serena Williams on the topic of ambition and the double standards placed on women who decide to chase their dream.

Speaking candidly, Markle explained how growing up in an all-girls Catholic school in Los Angeles taught her to feel empowered, saying the “feminist ideology” is incorporated into every aspect of her life.

“This message to me and my classmates was clear: our futures as young women were limitless. Ambition? That was the whole point!” she said.

“So I don’t remember ever personally feeling the negative connotation behind the word ‘ambitious’ until I started dating my now-husband.

“And apparently ambition is a terrible, terrible thing, for a woman, that is according to some. So, since I’ve felt the negativity behind it, it’s really hard to un-feel it.”

Apparently, Markle’s comments on ambition didn’t sit well with the former Good Morning Britain host as shortly after the episode hit the airwaves Morgan took to Twitter to slam Meghan who he labelled “Princess Pinocchio”.

Morgan wasn’t content with just attacking Markle’s comments on ambition, he also took issue with a story the 41-year-old shared about allegedly being forced to attend an engagement despite an earlier incident where a fire broke out in her son Archie’s playroom.

“He wasn’t even in the room & nobody was harmed,” he tweeted in response.

“Can you imagine the Queen whining about having to an an engagement in this circumstance? Markle’s victimhood knows no bounds, nor does her thirst to trash the royals whilst making $$$ from them.

“It’s shameless & pathetic.”

Morgan’s disdain for Markle is well documented, with the 57-year-old seemingly never missing a chance to take a swipe at the Duchess of Sussex.

Most recently Morgan launched a blistering attack against both Markle and her husband Prince Harry after it was announced the former Royals are preparing to make a return to the UK.

As revealed by Page Six, Harry and Meghan will be meeting with charities in September, attending the 2022 One Young World summit in Manchester, the 2023 Invictus Games in Düsseldorf, Germany, and the 2022 WellChild Awards in London.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to visit with several charities close to their hearts in early September,” a spokesperson for the couple said.

Morgan, however, felt differently about the couple’s travel plans.

Morgan’s long-standing feud with Markle began when he launched a scathing tirade against her following Harry and Meghan’s tell-interview with Oprah Winfrey. During a now infamous Good Morning Britain segment Morgan got into a heated exchange with his co-host after claiming he “didn’t believe a word” of Meghan’s explosive claims.
