Meghan Markle’s sentiments towards the Royal Family have been well-documented since stepping away alongside her husband, Prince Harry.

Harry and Meghan’s departure from the Royal Family in 2020, commonly referred to as “Megxit”, signaled a major shift in the traditional dynamics of the Monarchy.

The decision was accompanied by revelations in a 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, where the couple candidly discussed their struggles within the royal institution. The interview shed light on the challenges they faced and strained relationships within the family, sparking widespread public discussion.

However, recent revelations indicate that Meghan’s desire for an exit may have been present from the very beginning of her royal journey.

Veteran royal correspondent Valentine Low, drawing on more than a decade of experience covering the royals, shared with The Sun that there have been persistent doubts within the Palace regarding Meghan’s dedication to her royal role.

While Meghan projected confidence and articulated a promising future within the Monarchy, insiders reportedly perceived her as consistently casting herself as a victim, expressing feelings of being unwelcome by members of The Firm.

“She’d been well-briefed and was perfectly happy to spout her brief on air about what the future might be for her. She did some very interesting things,” Low said.

“But I also know that for all the great potential she showed, if you talk to people on the inside they believe rightly or wrongly that she was constantly casting herself as a victim.

“Saying ‘You don’t want me, you think I’m going to fail, I’m not welcome really’.

“It’s as if, they believe, she was looking for a way out from the very beginning.”

These revelations come as Prince Harry hints at a potential return to the royal fold amid his father’s battle with cancer while making efforts to mend ties with his family after years of strained relations.

Upon learning about the concerning state of King Charles’s health, Harry rushed to the United Kingdom to be by his father’s side.

Even though the encounter was described as brief, experts in royal matters have conveyed hope that Harry’s meeting with Charles could result in a favourable improvement in their strained relationship.

In addition to his visit with Charles, Harry hinted at the chance of reconciliation with the Royal Family during a recent interview with Good Morning America in which he also addressed King Charles’ health woes for the first time publicly.
