About Joanne Thompson

I am a retired teacher-librarian, reinvented as a vintage fashion collector and seller. I have been selling women’s vintage clothing and patterns since 2012 and have recently expanded into selling men’s vintage fashion as well. My online store Louisa Amelia Jane Vintage is named after my maternal grandmother. I live on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. I am also passionate about preserving our environment, reducing waste and resisting the avalanche of disposable fast fashion, which we are inundated with these days. Most of my wardrobe is pre-owned. My personal style is to mix and match vintage and pre-owned contemporary pieces for an individual look. One of the things I enjoy most about collecting and selling vintage pieces is researching the history of each object. If only they could talk!
