Jenni was born in the late-50s, so reached her teen years in the 1970s. The Whitlam years, she says, saw Australian universities open up to a wider range of people and she was the first in her family to attend. She spent a year at LaTrobe before dropping out and going on to the Coburg Teachers College. Jenni started teaching and then returned to study where she got her bachelor’s degree in education. Over a 35-year career, Jenni taught all primary levels (excpet for Grade 5) and was across most secondary subjects (except sciences). She has travelled and taught in Bali.
