If you’d asked Calista what her life’s purpose was at 16, this ‘girl from the bush’ probably would have muttered something about being the next Melinda Gainsford-Taylor and working as a primary school teacher. Neither happened and these days Calista is an editor, writer and journalist. Calista, who has a Bachelor or Journalism from James Cook University and more than 15 years’ experience in communications-based roles, has earned her living as a sports writer, a magazine editor, a book editor, a sub-editor, a community relations officer, a social media manager, a marketing officer and a touch football referee. She is the current community editor for Starts at 60, sharing her wealth of knowledge and experience with 400+ over-60s bloggers in Australia and around the world. It is a community she loves!
