‘I don’t give a fig about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding’

You’d be lying if you said you weren’t aware a wedding between Prince Harry and Megan Markle is about to take place. However, I am not lying when I say I am thoroughly sick and tired of hearing about it. I am not a royalist, and I do not give a fig about the royal wedding.

While there are all these celebratory posts about the goings-on of the young royals, I can’t help but think ‘Who gives a s**t?’

Who are these people who want to know all the intimate details about them? I couldn’t care less about who is invited, what she will wear, what they’ll eat and drink, and where they will honeymoon. I simply do not care.

There was recently a ‘news’ item about Prince Harry’s diet and exercise regimen in the lead up to the wedding, allegedly a routine that his future wife had him undertake. Does it really matter? I’ve also seen headlines about how Meghan will need to change her diet because of some royal tradition. Seriously!?

I just don’t care. Enough!

I certainly am not interested in how many times they will kiss, make love, make war or change the world in any given day. I do not want to know how many children they are going to have, when they will have them, and what they will call them. I don’t care if their new title is the Duke and Duchess of Sussex or the Duke and Duchess of Crumpets. Really, I don’t.

However, despite not having an ounce of interest in any of this inane information, unless I switch off every radio or television, or never buy a magazine or newspaper, I have no choice but to hear or read all this garbage.

No, I do not want to know, but it seems like it’s the only topic of conversation at the moment.

Please, this is not the stuff of legend. Can we all just let this fiasco be over so we can get on with our lives again.

How do you feel about the upcoming royal wedding? Do you like the royal family?
