Not long ago, we learned about the adorable moniker that Queen Camilla’s grandchildren lovingly call her. And now, we’ve been given more insight into what she’s like as a grandparent as a whole.
It’s no secret that being part of the Royal Family comes with a set of responsibilities, with the Queen specifically needing to offer support to her husband, King Charles III. But that doesn’t mean Camilla puts her role as a grandparent on the back burner, and according to Sara Parker-Bowles, Her Royal Highness adores being a grandmother.
Appearing on the UK talk show Lorraine, Camilla’s former daughter-in-law says the Queen has a very close relationship with her grandkids.

“She’s an amazing granny. She’s really hands-on, and she’s really into it,” Sara told show host Christine Lampard.
“She wants to know everything that they’re into. She loves jewelry and she’s really knowledgeable about it. Lola is obsessed as well, so they always chat about that.”
Camilla had previously spoken to Hello! about how she and her granddaughters shared a love for jewellery, during a trip to jewelry Monica Vinader’s studio in Norfolk in June.
“My grandchildren — well, my granddaughters — are incredibly jealous of me being here today,” she said.
“They follow you [on social media]. When they found out that I was coming here they started dropping quite a lot of hints about things they would like for their birthdays.”
But Camilla also connects with her grandchildren through more than just jewels.
Back in 2022, Her Majesty shared that she bonds with one of her granddaughters through their shared love for the popular world game, Wordle.
“I do Wordle every day with my granddaughter,” she told Vogue at the time.
“She’ll text me to say, ‘I’ve done it in three’, and I say, ‘Sorry, I’ve done it in two today.’ It’s very satisfactory when it tells you how brilliant you are!”
Though we often see Camilla out with her grandkids royal author Penny Junor says the Queen is all about showing her love for her grandchildren.
Per her biography, The Duchess: Camilla Parker Bowles and the Love Affair That, every June Camilla hosts a massive party in honour of her grandchildren and the grandchildren of her friends.
“In 2016 there were about 90 children tucking into sandwiches, cakes, and jellies and roaring around the garden at Clarence House, having tugs of war and watching spellbound as magicians did tricks and entertainers made them laugh,” Junor wrote.
Queen Camilla is a grandmother to five grandkids through her children from her first marriage to Andrew Parker-Bowles and a step-grandmother to Charles’ five grandchildren.
