It’s all change at Studio 10 it seems as it has now been confirmed that Denise Scott will no longer appear on the Channel Ten panel show. The 65-year-old comedian confirmed the news during an episode of Have You Been Paying Attention? earlier this week.
“I’ve quit! I’m no longer the correspondent,” Denise said on the program on Monday. “I’ve been in lockdown since March, and I just simply ran out of things to correspond about!”
This is despite the fact that Network Ten confirmed Denise would remain in her role as a contributor to the program amid extensive cuts to the network, which were unveiled in August as a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
The news also comes in the same week that Joe Hildebrand confirmed his departure from the show, after seven years, with the 44-year-old confirming his resignation live on air on Thursday morning.
Addressing the audience, Hildebrand revealed he had some news, saying: “I wanted to say it here first before you saw it or heard it anywhere else.”
“I am leaving Studio 10,” Hildebrand continued. “I have given it a huge amount of thought. It’s been really hard, but also really lovely to be able to look back on all the wonderful things we have done.
“We all know the show is getting a bit of a shake-up. Channel 10 and my lovely bosses asked me if I’d stay on in a new role. We talked about it really openly and warmly about what that might look like, and they were really keen. So don’t lash out at them.
“But I just thought it’s probably just better to draw a line under this amazing little story that I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of and give the new show – whatever it may look like – a chance to breathe and have a fresh start without me hanging around.”
While last month, it was revealed that Kerri-Anne Kennerley and Natarsha Belling were being axed from the program as part of network-wide cuts.
