Former Olympic swimmer Lisa Curry has shared an emotional post about the silver lining of “gloomy” times ahead of the two-year anniversary of her daughter Jaimi’s death at age 33.

Sharing an image on Instagram of a woman swimming in rough waters with the words, “some storms come to clear your path”, Curry gave her insight on living through hard times.

“Sometimes, when things look gloomy, remember, storms help trees take deeper roots and darkness is needed to see the stars,” Curry captioned the image.

Fans of the former Olympian shared their own heartwarming thoughts in support of Curry.

“And after every storm their is always a rainbow x,” one person commented.

“The storms have to lead to better things Lisa!!!”

“That’s so lovely. Thank you for sharing,” said another.

Curry recently spoke on the No Filter podcast where the mother of three revealed her late daughter’s heartwrenching final words.

“Jaimi kept saying, ‘Mum, I just want to know why I’m like this. What happened to me?’” Curry said.

“I’d say, ‘I don’t know. I don’t know what happened to you. You were a happy child. I can’t think of anything’,” she said, before continuing to describe her daughter’s addiction as a “toxic beast” that was inside her.

“And you hear that and you think that’s an awful way of saying it but it’s true. It’s so true. I’ve seen it. I’ve seen it in Jamie,” she said.

“This thing, it’s not them. It’s the addiction. It’s the beast. It’s the toxic beast that’s taking over their body. And it’s horrible. It’s horrible to see and to feel.”

In a recent birthday tribute to Jaimi, Curry revealed she’s trying to move past the guilt and continue to live without her daughter.

“Happy Birthday to our angel. You came into this world at 9.03am 35 years ago. Our first little bundle of joy. Forever young and beautiful,” she captioned the image.

“We miss you everyday. Life is different without you. Life is quiet without you. Life is not the same without you.

“I am starting to try and laugh without feeling guilty, to remember that it’s ok to continue living a good life, as I know that’s what Jaimi would have wanted. It never stops the tears, but the smile is starting to return a little more.

“We love and miss you baby girl and you will never be forgotten. So precious to so many people.”
