Goldie Hawn got down for a boogie this week as she danced her way through hump day to one of the world’s most loved songs at the moment.

Dressed in activewear with a purple top and patterned tights, the 74-year-old let her hair down and threw her hands up in the air to the hit song, ‘Dance Monkey’ by Aussie artist Tones and I.

Taking to Instagram to share the short video clip of her dance routine, Goldie wrote: “Dancing my Wednesday away to @tonesandi ‘Dance Monkey’???????????? I love this song so much, I can’t even stop to answer the phone!”

Her energetic performance has received much attention from fans who flooded the post with comments of admiration.

“Love you, sweet and adorable Goldie!” @lynnecampisithomas wrote. “U [sic] make the world a better place!”

“This song is my JAM! Goldie just made it 1000 per cent better!” @justinemink said. While @kelllkruger added: “My spirit animal”.

It’s been a while since Goldie was in the spotlight, with one of her last appearances dating back to November when she hit the red carpet for a charity event honouring American singer-songwriter Barry Manilow.

Accompanied by her gorgeous granddaughter Rio (the daughter of her son Oliver Hudson), the actress looked glamorous in an all-black ensemble, coordinated with a pair of red suede thigh-high boots.

Goldie wore her hair in soft waves, accessorising with a simple gold necklace. The actress was there to host the star-studded event on behalf of her foundation MindUP, which helps children improve brain health through mindfulness practices.

The Bird on a Wire actress shared a series of photos from the event on social media. In one snap she could be seen embracing the ‘Could It Be Magic’ singer, while she posed in another with her granddaughter.

“Couldn’t have picked a better date than my granddaughter Rio for my event in Palm Desert benefiting @mindup where we honoured [sic] the wonderful @barrymanilowofficial,” she wrote on the post. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who came and made this event a success. We are so grateful for your support!”
