Many of us look forward to our showers after a hectic day, yet keeping the grout between our tiles mould free is a pain that few enjoy dealing with.

Mould doesn’t just spoil the look of our homes it also comes with serious health risks and unfortunately, the constant damp in showers create an ideal environment for mould to flourish.

Thankfully, one cleaning professional has taken the hassle out of cleaning your grout and her quick and easy solution will leave you change from a $2 coin.

Taking to social media, professional sensation Jetlag Remedy us showed how she tackled the problem with just a $1.75 Shine dish brush from Woolworths.

In a video she uploaded to TikTok, the cleaning wiz demonstrated how she kept her shower grout constantly mould free “for just a few dollars as a pro.”

“All it takes is this hard-bristled scrubbing brush, I picked up mine for a few dollars from Woolworths and having it hung up in my shower constantly keeps me reminded to give everything a scrub whenever I need to,” she said.

“When I finish my shower, I’ll scrub the grout that needs to be done and then turn (the shower) back on, give it a little rinse off and I’m done.”

In almost no time, the grout has been sorted.

“That’s all it takes to stay on top of everything,” she said.

Anita Birges recently took to Instagram to share her ingenious methods for keeping mould in check, such as infusing chalk with clove oil, utilising silica gel packets, and harnessing the power of baking soda, to banish mould from the home.

“These have been tried and tested, and I want to share them with you.

“Here are 3 Simple Ways To Keep Mould Away.

“1. Put a few drops of Clove Oil on a piece of chalk and pop them into your drawers.

“2. Don’t throw away those little silicone packets you get inside packaging or shoe boxes. Use them in your wardrobe.

“I put mine into my shoes and it works a treat, especially for the leather boots.

“3. Leave an open box of baking soda under your kitchen sink. I also like to leave them in those beautifully organised cupboards under the bathroom sinks as well.
