They’re the stars of the hugely successful Netflix series Grace and Frankie and ahead of the premiere of the show’s fifth season, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show to play a hilarious game.
It’s been joked that the theme of this year’s Grace and Frankie is “f*** it” and Ellen decided to play a game called “Lily and Jane don’t give a f***” to promote the new season. The host was forced to apologise for swearing on-air, but insisted it was simply the theme of her guest’s show.
“You get old and then who gives a f*** anymore?” 81-year-old Jane joked.
As part of the game, Ellen hit a button and random questions popped up on the screen for her guests to answer. The aim of the game was for both Jane and Lilly to answer as honestly as possible with the first thing that came to mind.
The first question asked the pair who their first celebrity crush was. Jane explained that Some Like It Hot star Tony Curtis was her first crush, while Lily chose Written on the Wind star Dorothy Malone.
Next, they were asked to reveal something everyone loves but they hate. Lily, 79, admitted she hated mashed potatoes, before admitting that was a lie.
“I love them, I was wrong, I don’t know why I said that,” she said to roars of laughter from the audience. Her co-star revealed she hated cooked bananas of any kind.

“Now you’ve lost the Hispanic audience,” Lily quipped, while Ellen admitted she hates cotton balls.
When it came to answering her go-to excuse for getting out of something, Jane admitted she uses ‘being old’ as an excuse, and further hilarity ensured when they were forced to reveal the person they’d like to do a love scene with.
Jane admitted she’d pick Love Actually star Liam Neeson or country singer Blake Shelton, while Lily picked Jane.
“Honestly, I love Jane,” she said. That answer was a little cheeky as she could have been talking about her co-star or her wife, Jane Wagner.
During the game, the actresses also had to describe each other in one word.
“Genius,” Jane screamed, while Lily called her co-star adorable.
The clip was a hit with viewers, who praised the women for their sense of humour and chemistry with each other.
One person said: “They ARE Gracie and Frankie in real life. I love them.”
Another comment read: “They both look amazing! Ageing goals! Love them both!”
A third added: “I don’t think they realise how funny they are together, love them.”
During the interview, the women revealed Grace and Frankie has already been picked up for a sixth season, while season five will be released this Friday on Netflix.
