When it comes to style inspiration for over-60s, it’s hard to go past Jane Fonda.
The 80-year-old actress pulled out another show-stopping look on Monday, this time donning an elegant black gown, as she was honoured at the Trophée des Arts Gala 2018 in New York City, an extravagant affair thrown by the French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF).
The Grace and Frankie actress looked glamorous in the long-sleeved floor-length gown, which included black stitching. Jane teamed the show-stopping look with a pair of pointy black heels and a matching chunky necklace.
The annual gala raises funds to support FIAF’s mission “to teach French, promote Francophone culture, and strengthen the relationship between French and American peoples”. The organisation, cited Jane’s track record of political activist and feminist, as well as a committed philanthropist in cementing the honours for the Trophée des Arts award.
Jane proved she is every bit a fashion icon as she showed off yet another stylish outfit for an event in New York City this month. Attending the Women’s Media Awards, the actress stepped out in a dazzling ensemble that included a gold feathered jacket and black flared trousers.
The Grace and Frankie actress teamed the show-stopping look with a pair of metallic gold shoes and a matching chunky necklace.
Her glammed up appearance comes after the actress released her documentary Jane Fonda in Five Acts. The film provides viewers with an intimate perspective on the star’s incredible life. Whether it be insights into her award-winning acting career, her role as a sex icon, her political activism, or her time as one of the world’s most influential fitness gurus, the film gives viewers a taste of Jane they haven’t seen before.
While she’s been busy hitting the promotional trial for the film over the past few months, the actress said she was happy to focus on her career after declaring she was done with dating after splitting from her long-term partner Richard Perry in 2017.
“I’m not dating anymore but I did up until a couple of years ago,” she told Extra in May. “I’m 80… I’ve closed up shop down there!”
