About Margaret Whitley
Margaret Whitley's passion for the written word commenced at a very early age with a mother who wrote poetry and short stories, a brother who writes books relating to WW1 and more recently a daughter, Amanda who is the creator of popular website for women, (and men) , HerCanberra, with a following of 30,000 last month. Amanda was announced on International Women's' Day as the A.C.T Woman of the Year for 2016.
Her delight at being offered the Mobile Library position for the Narrandera Shire in 1985 was the start of working with her love of books. Consequently she was offered the position of Library Office assistant/ Clerical staff Working for Dept.of Education at the Narrandera High School where she worked for 10 years until her husband's ill health forced her to resign.
Her love of books is still assuaged by becoming a Volunteer at the Griffith City Library for the last few years.
