Jim Tilley

As a self-proclaimed Possie (half Pom, half Aussie!), Jim has spent much of his 20 years of retirement lobbying the UK government over its policy to freeze the British state pensions paid to more than 500,000 Australian residents.

Over those two decades, he’s assisted hundreds of British expats, including actress Miriam Margolyes and Media Watch’s Paul Barry, discover and achieve their rightful retirement income – all while he continues to put pressure on the UK government to what he calls a discriminatory and miserly policy.

As the honourable vice chairman of the non-profit organisation British Pensions in Australia (BPiA) and director of the International Consortium of British Pensioners (ICBP) campaign, Jim knows the British and Australian pensions systems like the back of his hand and will continue to fight until all British expats get what they are entitled to.

In what’s left of his spare time, Jim enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons.
