About Helen Wiggins

I'm Helen and I'm 76. I have three children and six grandchildren. I was born in London and married my husband of 40 years in Australia. He sadly passed away six years ago. Came to Perth where we bought a fish and chip shop, then I became a mother and had three children rather quickly. We went on holiday to Kalbarri in WA and my husband fell in love with the lifestyle. So up we went to live and we hired out boats to the holiday makers. Came back to Perth and eventually the children went to school and I became a crosswalk attendant. Unfortunately I got hit by a car and spent the next three months in hospital with two broken legs. It was a long recovery but then something wonderful happened. I got a job at one of the Universities here. I loved my job and I had 11 happy years there. After I retired I did some volunteer work which I still do every Friday and I enjoy it very much.
