Harry and Meghan jet off for annual glamorous royal holiday

Jul 27, 2018

After completing their last official royal engagement on Thursday, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are now free to jet off on their summer holiday – and if it’s anything like their previous trips, they are in for a spectacular month.

Just like the rest of the royals, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are now permitted to take a break from their royal duties for the next coming weeks according to magazine Hello!

While their chosen destination has not been disclosed to the public, it’s suggested to be somewhere quite special as the Duchess is also celebrating her 37th birthday next Saturday.

Speculation has begun that the couple may head back to the United States for Meghan to reunite with her family and friends.

While the couple has already experienced a number of holidays abroad together, none have been more special than their very first trip away where they spent five nights camping under the stars in Botswana.

The Duke and Duchess’ said in their first interview together after getting engaged that the time together was crucial for them to properly get to know each other.

The break is well deserved for the busy royal family including the Queen, 92, who reportedly carried out a total of 296 public duties last year alone.

Each year the monarch enjoys her relaxing summer getaway in the royal family’s Scottish holiday home, Balmoral Castle.

Heading to Scotland has been an annual tradition for the Queen who began her break last week and is expected to return to London and her royal duties in September.

It’s said that Prince Charles and Camilla will also head to Scotland in a few weeks to stay on the Queen’s Balmoral Estate in Birkhall.

Meanwhile, Prince William and Catherine have already headed off to the sunny island of Mustique with their three children as well as the Duchess’ parents.

The luxurious Caribbean island is known to be a completely secluded paradise where the royals regularly head to for a relaxing holiday or to partake in activities such as sailing, scuba diving, tennis and horse riding.

Despite being royals, even their fancy summer getaways don’t always go to plan! The royals found this out when William and Kate’s first family trip away was ruined when they were denied accommodation at their chosen hotel as it was completely booked out.

The couple were planning to take their children to the French Alps for their first skiing trip together before they were forced to reschedule.
