Flashback: Do you remember Cher’s second love?

It is 1975…  Do you remember when Cher married a new man just days after her famous marriage ended? Greg Allman was her second husband…

June 30 in 1975 was the day that Cher and Gregg Allman of the Allman Brothers Band famously tied the knot.

Less than a week after Cher’s divorce to Sonny was finalised came this shock and rather hasty marriage. Little did the public realise at that time that the relationship between Cher and Sonny had ended a couple years before – just not their marriage. Whilst they had been living together since 1973 with their young daughter Chastity, they also had their lovers on the side. It was fair to say the marriage had ended long before the divorce.

Although Cher and Greg had a son together in 1976, Elijah Allman, the marriage did not last much longer due to the alleged drug abuse by Allman.
