Wife’s extravagant shopping list for husband goes viral

One woman has found a way around disastrous shopping trips.

If you’ve ever sent your significant other to the supermarket only for them to return with bags full of mystery items, you may want to take a leaf from Era Londhe’s book.

Londhe, an IT specialist from India, took to Twitter on Sunday to share a photo of the incredibly detailed shopping list she made for her husband, Gaurav, and it’s got women — and men — laughing around the world.

Londhe told the BBC she and her husband decided to split the household chores after they got married, something she says is uncommon in India.

Although her husband was keen to help around the house and learn how to cook, a lifetime of inexperience meant he didn’t know even the most basic vegetables and struggled to pick ripe fruit from the rotten.

“When I first sent him to purchase vegetables, it was an epic fail and an argument ensued between us,” she told the BBC. “The second time was no better. Nor was the third.”

So how do you solve a problem like Gaurav? You create the world’s most detailed shopping list, complete with illustrations and meticulous instructions!

Some of her notes included “Onion, Small size, Round shape” as well as “Palak (spinach), Good leaves, No holes”.

She shared the list on Twitter and was soon inundated with comments from women saying they would try the same thing with their husbands as well men who could see the funny side to the picture.

“This is EXACTLY what my wife needs to give me!!” wrote Ted Beaudry.

Others shared their own hilarious stories of shopping fails by well-intentioned husbands.

“Friend’s husband once purchased 100 bread rolls instead of loo rolls,” shared Jackie Day.

Does your partner need a list like this? Who does the grocery shopping in your house?
