Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s choice to leave the Royal Family and start anew in the US appears to have brought them more challenges.

The couple is said to be “worried sick” as the approaching US election raises concerns for the pair, particularly after Donald Trump suggested that if re-elected, he might consider deporting them.

“The Sussexes are worried sick over the prospect of Donald Trump becoming president again – and making good on his vow to kick Prince Harry out of America,” a source told New Idea.

“They’re putting together a contingency plan that would see them flee the country with their children [Archie and Lilibet] if Trump does return to office.”

Amid inquiries into Harry’s visa application, spurred by revelations in his revealing memoir Spare regarding drug use, Trump declared his readiness to take “appropriate action” should it be revealed that Harry misled authorities on his visa application.

The couple’s latest woes come as Prince Harry prepares to face what royal author Tom Quinn deemed a “nightmare” weekend for the ousted royal as his family across the pond gear up for Trooping the Colour celebrations.

As members of the Royal Family greet an adoring public and appear on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, Harry will be watching from afar, reminiscing about what once was.

“King Charles’ birthday and Father’s Day are both a nightmare for Harry,” Quinn told The Mirror.

“He knows the world will be watching to see whether he is big enough to reach out to his father. He is determined to try to ignore his troubled relationship with his father and he will certainly send a warm message.

“It’s easy to forget that Harry really does love his father, he just hates the fact that Charles seems always to support William when there is a family dispute.”

In addition to missing out on the action of this weekend’s celebrations, the historic event will likely serve as a stark reminder of what Harry gave up since stepping away from his royal duties.

“As time goes by, Harry misses some aspects of his old life in the UK,” Quinn added.

“Inevitably, the honeymoon period where everything in the States is new and exciting is coming to an end and Harry is looking back at the past through rose-tinted spectacles.”
