The simple gesture that could help ‘heal’ Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s rift with the Royal Family

Many have weighed in on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s ongoing rift with the Royal Family over the years.

Since stepping away from their royal duties in 2020, everyone from media personalities to royal experts has offered their two cents as to the state of relations between the two warring parties and what could resolve the standoff.

Now, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams has thrown his hat into the ring, suggesting a simple gesture that could potentially go a long way in soothing the tensions between Harry and Meghan and their family across the pond.

“There will continue to be enormous interest on whether Harry will take any steps towards reconciling the rift which has been so damaging, to the royal family and also to the Sussexes,” Fitzwilliams said in a piece for The Express.

“With King Charles and the Princess of Wales both battling cancer, it is a extremely difficult period for the institution.

“The royals, with good reason, do not trust them… Harry and Meghan preach ‘joy’, but despite their admirable charitable work, their unpredictability, which often manifests itself in hostility, gives their actions a Jekyll and Hyde flavour.

“If they really believe what they preach, why don’t they say something positive publicly about the Royal Family? It just might work wonders in helping to heal their rift with it.”

While it remains to be seen whether Harry and Meghan will offer a gesture of reconciliation to their estranged loved ones, the Royal Family recently offered somewhat of an olive branch after they posted their best wishes to Harry on social media for his birthday.

The birthday wishes marked the first public message for Harry from The Firm since 2021.

“Wishing The Duke of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday today!” the Royal Family wrote alongside a picture of a smiling Harry.

Surprisingly, Prince William and Princess Catherine also extended birthday wishes to Prince Harry by sharing the Royal Family’s post on their social media channels.
