One of the most beloved novels of our time, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, may have seemed like it was completed when it was published in 1964, but there is a chapter that was omitted from our final copies.

This week it has been revealed that there is an unpublished chapter from Roald Dahl’s children’s bestseller, titled “The Vanilla Fudge Room”.

This is bound to be welcomed news for those of us who adored this book and have passed it down the generations.

It’s a delightfully written draft and follows on from when Augustus Gloop (or Augustus Pottle in the book) is taken down the chocolate river.

Read the full chapter here and tell us, what did you love about the original book? Do you think they should have published this chapter?
