As the world rings in the New Year, marking the start of a fresh decade, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have celebrated by sharing a never-before-seen photograph of their eight-month-old son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
The proud parents, who have spent the holiday period overseas in Canada with Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland, shared the photo as part of a video and image montage on their official Instagram page.
The adorable image shows young Archie dressed in a woollen hat and thick winter coat as he smiles at the camera from his father Prince Harry’s arms.
Royal fans were delighted by the image and many said they almost didn’t recognise who has grown up mostly away from the limelight over the past eight months.
One wrote: “LOVE this beautiful family!!!! Sending love & wishes for Many blessings in 2020!!” Another said: “Almost didn’t recognize Archie!” [sic]
While another commented: “Wishing the three of you love and light in 2020.”

Harry and Meghan also penned a sweet New Year’s message to their supporters which was posted alongside the images, which showed the couple carrying out royal duties both at home and abroad over the past 12 months.
“Wishing you all a very Happy New Year and thanking you for your continued support!” the message read.
“We’ve loved meeting so many of you from around the world and can’t wait to meet many more of you next year. We hope 2020 brings each of you health and continued happiness.”
The new photo comes just weeks after the duke and duchess shared a special festive image of their son which they chose for their official 2019 Christmas card.
