Prince Harry is once again in the limelight, this time facing serious backlash for some off-the-cuff comments he made in an interview with online media company Fast Company, published December 6.
During the interview, the ex-Royal made several snarky claims, wherein he discussed his position as Chief Impact Officer of BetterUp, a mental health advocation service that works with businesses and individuals.
One question, asked: “Covid has accelerated a lot of trends in the workplace— like increased burnout and job resignations. How have you adapted your strategy to address these things?”
Harry’s answer has left some seething, as he seemed to encourage unhappy workers to just quit their jobs.
“A lot of the job resignations you mention aren’t all bad. In fact, it is a sign that with self-awareness comes the need for change.”
“Many people around the world have been stuck in jobs that didn’t bring them joy, and now they’re putting their mental health and happiness first. This is something to be celebrated.”
Controversial media personality Piers Morgan has responded in a very heated way, calling Harry “a total halfwit”.
He really is a total halfwit. https://t.co/BnBb82jCQA

Morgan isn’t the only one who’s been rattled by Harry’s comments; they’ve been taken quite hard by royal lovers and haters alike with many commenting that Harry, who resigned from his role as a Prince nearly two years ago, had no write to tell others to quit their jobs, when he doesn’t have experience “in the real world”. Some described Harry’s comments as “out of touch”.
What a privilege problem…my job doesn’t give me joy…I’ll just quit. Most folks can’t just quit cuz they’re not happy…they have rent & bills to pay & need food to eat. But yeah the Prince really understands…

And so can living a millionaire’s lifestyle at next to no cost in Montecito – no worries, at all! Is he open to sharing that with the mentally challenged hoi-poloi? No, thought not! ????

So Prince Harry is advising us to leave unsatisfying jobs for our mental healths sake!
What a plonker
Try exercising strength of character instead of running off Harry.— Jeannie (@lurchtwo) December 6, 2021
Prince Harry telling people, that is they’re unhappy in their job, they should quit shows just how out of touch he is- if standing outside a window juggling like a clown is his idea of happiness after quitting his job and he can’t see he has a new boss, then he’s beyond help pic.twitter.com/POPepiGadj

However, not all responses were bitter, with many commenting that they agreed with Harry.
As you all know, I whole heartedly agree with Prince Harry. #greatresignation #theburnoutepidemic https://t.co/VisfkSJW7O

“We’re just at the beginning of the mental health awakening,” says Prince Harry.
I hope when people (and companies) say they care about mental health, they mean it, and aren’t just saying it because it’s trendy. I think Prince Harry actually gets it.https://t.co/YcFRrA4GgR

The pandemic made a lot of people rethink their priorities & purpose. In the face of everything happening in the world, many ppl were no longer willing to tolerate mistreatment in the workplace. They couldn’t justify the tradeoffs anymore. #PrinceHarry explains why that’s healthy. https://t.co/9nGcaNLwJs
