Beloved quizmaster Anne Hegerty has revealed her plans for the future on the iconic show, The Chase, sharing insights into what’s next for her on the popular program.
Hegerty, the beloved “Governess” on the popular quiz show, recently opened up about what the future holds for her time on The Chase during a recent interview with Belle, and her insights are sure to be music to the ears of her adoring fans.
“I have absolutely no plans to [leave]. I remember a couple of years ago, I was at the Pride of Manchester Awards, and sitting next to Helen Worth from Coronation Street,” she told the publication.
“We were chatting and I told her I don’t want to leave The Chase because I don’t want to be that person who left a really successful TV show because they thought they could do better and then to never be heard from again.
“I don’t feel the need to do any retiring. I love doing The Chase – it’s my favourite job ever. I’ve never had a better job than The Chase – it’s brilliant.”
Hegerty recently shared what she enjoys most about her role on the game show, which likely explains her commitment to staying on board.
In a recent interview with The Express, Hegerty opened up about what makes her time on The Chase truly special. Reflecting on her experience, she shared that she has “too many favourite things”.
“Possibly working with Brad. He is just this legendary presenter, and he is just such a nice guy, all the Chasers have such a nice rapport with him,” she revealed.
Beyond the star-studded company, Hegerty finds a unique sense of fulfillment in the job itself.
“But also the fact that it is a job that I can do. It is sort of tailor-made for me and I can earn a decent living just by doing a few hours of work every day, which is brilliant,” she shared.
“So it suits me down to a tea. I always say, any time that I am filming for The Chase, the actual filming for The Chase is the easy part of my day and everything else is more difficult so yeah, I absolutely love it.”
