In the midst of a tumultuous period for the Royal Family, Meghan Markle’s latest venture has ignited a firestorm of criticism.

The Duchess of Sussex recently unveiled the inaugural offering from her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, but the move has drawn sharp rebuke from commentator Lizzie Cundy.

Meghan’s brand debuted with a limited collection of 50 jams, dispatched to her circle of friends and influencers across the United States. However, amidst a backdrop of royal health crises, Cundy minced no words in her condemnation.

Speaking to GBN America, Cundy blasted Meghan for what she deemed as a lack of relatability.

“I think people are really seeing her for what she is,” remarked Cundy, highlighting Meghan’s alleged detachment from the current struggles faced by the Royal Family.

Cundy’s criticism particularly honed in on the timing of the jam launch, juxtaposed against the health battles of Princess Kate and the King.

” I think she should come out and actually apologise for what she’s done to poor Kate, and maybe not be so insensitive,” she said.

Not stopping with just Meghan, Cundy expanded her disapproval to encompass both her and her husband Prince Harry.

“They’ve got these new Netflix shows about making jam and cookery, and Harry’s is about polo playing, it’s not really relatable,” she explained.

“I think it’s pretty insensitive when Catherine’s going through what she’s going through and the King is going through his cancer issues too, it’s really insensitive, to be honest.

“They never read the room do they? They’re so into themselves they can’t see the wood for the trees!

“We’ve heard Meghan going on about the trolling and all the horrible comments and you just think, look at what you’ve actually done to poor Kate.”

Despite criticism of her latest venture’s timing, it seems unlikely to affect the Duchess’s feelings toward the Royal Family. Reports suggest she’s asking for an apology from Prince William and Princess Catherine before moving forward.

Royal author Tom Quinn recently provided insight into the complex dynamics within the Royal Family, shedding light on Meghan’s stance amid rumors of a potential reconciliation.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Quinn discussed Meghan’s firm stance, stating, “Harry would like a reconciliation, but supports his wife completely and until she feels that the Royal family have been sufficiently nice to her – and grovelingly apologised for the past – it’s not going to happen.”

While Harry may be inclined towards reconciliation, his allegiance to Meghan seems unwavering, with her grievances serving as a barrier to any meaningful reconnection.

Even Catherine’s recent battle with illness, which might typically serve as a catalyst for familial reconciliation, has done little to alleviate Meghan’s “sense of grievance”.

“There has been a shift here since Kate’s illness, Harry and Meghan do feel they need to extend an olive branch, but Meghan’s sense of grievance is still preventing anything really meaningful happening,” Quinn said.

“Illness often brings warring family members together, and there have been hopes at Kensington Palace that Kate’s illness might do it.”
