Baby joy! Turia Pitt reveals she’s pregnant with second child in heartwarming video

Motivational speaker Turia Pitt and her partner Michael Hoskin have revealed they’re expecting their second child. Sharing a special video announcement with fans on Instagram on Friday evening, 32-year-old Turia revealed that their first son, Hakavai Hoskin, was going to be a big brother.

“When Michael and I want to share big news, I insist on creating a Beyonce-inspired video montage,” the burns survivor told her 845,000 Instagram followers. “Baby #2, we can’t wait to meet you.”

She also joked that she would find a more appropriate name for her baby soon. The adorable video begins with Turia and Michael sharing a kiss on their balcony, before it cuts to footage of the proud mother with Hakavai.

There’s also a scene where Michael is playing effortlessly with his son in a pool and another adorable clip of Turia dancing with little Hakavai. Elsewhere in the video, the toddler can be seen chasing birds, while Turia also shows off her baby bump and an ultrasound of her unborn child.

The clips ends with family members kissing Turia’s growing up. Thousands of fans have already flocked to Instagram to congratulate the young couple on the exciting news.

One fan wrote: “Congratulations! This is the best news I’ve heard today. May your pregnancy be perfect and your baby be healthy.”

Another comment read: “Congratulations. I hope you are feeling well, you must be so excited about the new addition to your family, amazing great news,” while a third person added: “Congrats, wonderful news. That bump was well hidden at your book event last week. I would never have guessed that you had a little stowaway onboard.”

Turia and Michael welcomed Hakavai in December 2017 and wrote at the time: “Michael and I want to introduce you to someone… Meet Hakavai Hoskin,

“We’ll be in this little newborn bubble for a few weeks but we wanted to pop our heads out for a moment to share the news directly with you. We are totally in love, and just so stoked!”

Since then, fans have watched little Hakavai become a fixture on the star’s Instagram page. She recently shared an adorable video of the tot trying his best to play the recorder and joked: “Marching band rehearsals are going poorly.”

Another gorgeous post showed Michael and his son each indulging in an ice cream cone, while others simply show Hakavai growing up and going about his daily routine.

Turia originally made headlines in 2011, when she sustained burns to 65 per cent of her body from a catastrophic bush fire, during an ultra-marathon in Western Australia. She tried to outrun a grass fire but became severely injured when the out-of-control blaze caught up to her.

Doctors didn’t think she would survive and she ended up spending six months in hospital, underwent numerous surgeries and took two years in recovery – which saw her wear full-body compression suits and masks.

In addition to being a mum, Turia is also author, humanitarian and public speaker. There’s no word yet on the gender of the baby or when it will arrive.
