Bob Saget’s wife opens up about her grief, revealing their final conversation

Bob Saget’s wife, Kelly Rizzo, has opened up about her grief following her husband’s death and the last conversation she shared with the late comedian.

The Full House star was found dead in a hotel room on the night of January 9, 2022, at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Florida. Saget’s cause of death has not been released however foul play and drug use were ruled out by the sheriff’s department and the medical examiner.

“The cause and manner of death are pending further studies and investigation. At this time, there is no evidence of drug use or foul play.” said a spokesperson for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

In an interview that aired on NBC’s TODAY, Rizzo said she is still trying to come to terms with the loss of her husband.

“I was just telling some of my family that today’s a little bit, there’s a little bit more of a sense of calm,” she said.

“I think you get to a point where your body will just physically not let you cry anymore, or at least all day.

“So I think I’m possibly getting there, or I’m just numb.

“I can’t tell what it is right now.”

Later in the interview, Rizzo reflected on her final conversation with Saget.

“I think I said, ‘I love you dearly,’ and he said, ‘I love you endlessly,'” she said.

“I said, ‘I can’t wait to see you tomorrow.’ And then, you know, it was just all very — it was just all love.”

Fans and friends flooded social media with comments and tributes to Saget following news of his passing, which Rizzo attributed to helping her get through the difficult time.

“I don’t know how else I’d be getting through this right now,” she said.

Rizzo paid tribute to her late husband with a photo posted to Instagram of her and Saget alongside the caption, “My sweet husband. After much reflection this week, I’m trying, really trying, to not think I was robbed of time. But instead to think: How lucky was I that I got to be the one to be married to THE MOST INCREDIBLE MAN ON EARTH. I was the one who got to go on this crazy ride with him and be in his life these last 6 years.”

“Most importantly. I have no regrets. We loved each other so damn much and told each other 500 times every day. Constantly. I know how much he loved me until the very last moment and he knew the same. I’m so grateful for that. Not everyone gets that,” she wrote.

Rizzo also reflected on her relationship with Saget, claiming they were “inseparable” from the moment they met.

“From our very first date, pretty much, we knew that that was it. So it was instant,” she said.

“We knew that it was something different and unique.”
