Hearts are melting across the country after tennis sensation Ash Barty took to Instagram to share her return to the tennis court alongside her newborn baby boy.

Instead of her signature powerful serves against tough opponents, on this occasion the 27-year-old found herself returning balls served by a group of up-and-coming tennis talent as she coached young players for a ‘red ball’ tennis lesson.

Barty graciously offered a peek into her court session on her social media platform, playfully noting that her little one seemed more inclined to sleep the day away than observe her in action.

“Back to red ball,” she wrote.

“Coaches seemed happy enough. Spectator just enjoyed a snooze in the shade.”

The adorable picture of Barty and baby Hayden had fans across the nation overcome with pure delight, with some taking the opportunity to encourage the former World No. 1 to make a return to the court.

“That tiny racket is so cute,” one fan wrote.

“Ekkk the cutest tiniest racquet I’ve ever seen! Gorgeous.”

“Aww @ashbarty melting our hearts here.”

“This is so adorable buddy!” another commented.

“Oh so beautiful, well done to you.”

“We need you back on the tour. But I guess we have to wait. Enjoy your time with your family.”

“Please come back!”

“Comeback is coming.”

While it seemed that Barty enjoyed her time on the tennis court, she firmly shut down any rumours of a return to the sport while announcing the highly anticipated return of the Brisbane International for 2024 alongside fellow tennis star Pat Rafter recently.

While many were no doubt pleased to see Barty back on the tennis court any speculation of a return to competition for the 27-year-old was quickly shot down.

“I don’t have the time – I don’t have the time to train, I don’t have the time to prepare, and I have so many great memories out on this court, and now I just get to create new memories,” Barty said.

“I’m certainly not coming out of retirement. Pat may be more likely than me.

“I’m not coming back,” she added.
