Gone are the days of eating cold leftover pizza straight from the fridge. Turns out you can turn leftover pizza into a tasty second meal. And if anyone knows what to do with leftover pizza, it’s Australia’s original pizza delivery company Domino’s Pizza – think churros, an extra cheesy sandwich, or even a pizza-inspired omelette. Here are five easy hacks for making your leftover pizza taste better the next day.

Turn the pizza crust into churros

If you’re stuck for ideas and usually tear off your crust, why not turn your leftover pizza crust into something more delicious like churros? All you have to do is remove all crust from your leftover slices, fry them up with a little bit of butter and then add icing sugar. The best part is, it tastes just as good as it sounds!

When in doubt, heat it up

Whether that means popping it in the oven for a few minutes or zapping it in the microwave if you’re short on time, reheated leftover pizza always works a treat — in fact, some may even say they prefer pizza the next day. And, don’t worry about soggy pizza crusts either! Just pop a half-full cup of water in the microwave next to your plate. The glass of water will absorb any excess microwave radiation and keep your food from turning into a soggy mess.

Make a toasted sandwich

If you’re a fan of sandwiches, then you’re going to love this one! Layer two pizza slices, toppings facing inwards and place in a sandwich press. The result? A crispy, crunchy exterior with melted cheese and toppings on the inside. If you don’t have a sandwich press, a waffle maker or even a frying pan does the trick — just add a little bit of butter before frying up!

Add it to an omelette

No, not the whole pizza! But you can add the pizza toppings to an omelette if you’re craving something a little bit different for breakfast. Ever tried a ham and pineapple omelette? Well, now’s your chance. Simply crack a couple of eggs into a frying pan and scrape your leftover toppings into an omelette — it’s that easy! And if you’re not sure what to do with all those leftover crusts? Read on.

Add some sauce with it

The next time you order takeaway pizza, why not add a dipping sauce? That way you can put any leftover crust to good use the next day — perfect if you’ve already used up the pizza toppings in an omelette. Not to mention, it’s the perfect snack in between meals!
