Queen Elizabeth was all smiles as she made an appearance at the Epsom Races on Saturday to celebrate 65 years since her coronation, looking elegant in a lilac outfit and matching floral hat.
The Queen, who is famously passionate about racing, beamed as she made her way into the event.
As is often her style, the 92-year-old wore a simple purple overcoat with a jaunty matching hat and sleeved shift floral dress underneath, further brightening up an already cheerful ensemble with a multi-strand pearl necklace and large jewelled brooch. She matched her gorgeous dress with her favourite black buckle loafers and a black patent handbag.

Purple is known to be one of her favourite colours, since she’s worn the vibrant hue on a number of occasions, particularly during the spring and summer months.
Saturday marked 65 years since the Queens coronation. Taking to Instagram the royal family wrote: “Today marks the 65th Anniversary of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. On 2nd June 1953, Her Majesty became the 39th Sovereign to be crowned at Westminster Abbey, where every Coronation since 1066 has taken place.”

The Queen has had a busy couple of weeks, hosting a garden party with Prince William at Buckingham Palace this week.
The Queen looked summery in a bright blue patterned dress and matching broad-brimmed hat, coupled with her favourite sensible Anello & Davide court shoes and Launer handbag, both in black. (She reportedly owns 200 of the bags in various colours and pays £1,000 (US$1,329, AU$1,756) for the custom-made shoes, which she re-soles when they’re in danger of wearing out.)

It was such a lovely sunny day in London that the monarch even donned a pair of sunglasses, with the orange-tinted lenses that she always favours. But in a nod to the notoriously changeable English weather, she also carried a transparent umbrella. White gloves, a big diamond brooch and a three-strand pearl necklace completed Queen Elizabeth’s polished but surprisingly down-to-earth look.
