Camilla rugs up in gorgeous blue coat for busy day out with Charles

The Duchess of Cornwall rugged up in a long, blue coat and black boots on Tuesday for an official engagement with husband Prince Charles.

Camilla looked lovely in the vibrant blue outfit which was matched with a similarly coloured dress and black gloves for a busy day visiting a number of towns across England.

The 71-year-old was all smiles as she wandered through the market in Ely, wearing a scarf and knee-high black boots to keep warm in the cold UK weather.

During the day the royal made a special visit to the Addenbrooke Hospital where she met with children who live with type 1 diabetes.

Camilla was radiant as she smiled for an adorable photo with two kids who benefit from the not-for-profit organisation JDRF that funds type 1 diabetes research.

“At Addenbrooke’s Hospital today, brother and sister George and Ava Vinnicombe were delighted to meet HRH The Duchess of Cornwall. George was diagnosed with #type1diabetes as a baby. Parents Simon and Tracy Vinnicombe are dedicated supporters of @JDRFUK,” the organisation wrote on its Twitter page.

The Duchess also made a trip to the town of Wisbech to meet children taking part in a literacy session. This was a special moment for Camilla who is a patron of the Literacy Trust. The trust has been working with local organisations on community based literacy projects across East Anglia.

Meanwhile, Charles headed to Ely Cathedral where he viewed an impressive collection of stained glass pieces. Here he also met with local school children who are learning about the history, creation and preservation of stained glass.

The latest royal engagements follow the royal couple’s joint outing to the Prince’s Countryside Fund Raceday at Ascot on Friday.

The Duchess of Cornwall, once again stole the show as she wrapped up against the cold air in a stylish tweed jacket and knee-high brown boots.

She had a chic polka dot scarf wrapped round her neck as well as a dazzling gold brooch on her collar, and she completed the look with a large fur-trimmed hat.

Meanwhile, Charles co-ordinated well with his wife as he wore a thick camel-coloured coat to the event over a smart red tie paired with camel shoes.

The pair were pictured meeting supporters of the fund before they handed out trophies to the winners – even posing for a series of group photos together once the races were completed.
