The easiest peanut butter biscuits

Biscuits have long been the perfect treat to enjoy with your afternoon tea, but sometimes the store-bought versions can be too bland to serve up to guests. So, if you’re bored of the usual flavours, why not try these delicious homemade peanut butter versions. These tasty sweet snacks will be a hit with the whole family thanks to their simple and mouthwatering flavour. The recipe also couldn’t be simpler so why not rope in the grandkids into the kitchen to help with the baking process. Try these on a day when you feel like baking something quick, cheap, easy and – above everything else – absolutely delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup caster sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups self-raising flour, sifted
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 160C. Grease a baking tray.
  2. Combine brown sugar and caster sugar in a large mixing bowl. Add melted butter and lightly beaten egg. Stir well to combine. Gradually add flour, peanut butter and vanilla essence to bowl. Stir well to combine.
  3. Spoon teaspoons of dough onto tray. Flatten with fork. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden. Serve.
