This homemade cheesy hash brown potato bake is an absolute winner. A comforting and cheesy dish made with hash brown and rich cream to tie it all together. And with only four easy, budget-friendly ingredients, you can whip this up in no time!
If you want to make it a bit lighter, try swapping out the cream and butter for light versions and add veggies if you like – mushrooms, capsicum and corn kennels all work well. This dish is also ideal for bringing along to family get togethers or serving up next to a main meal. Enjoy!
Ingredients
- 1.5g brushed potatoes, peeled, coarsely grated
- 60g butter, melted
- 80ml (1/3 cup) cream
- 80g (1 cup) grated tasty cheese
Method
- Preheat oven to 190C. Place potato in a colander and use your hands to squeeze out the excess moisture.
- Transfer potato to large bowl. Add butter and cream. Season and stir well to combine.
- Transfer potato mixture to an 18 x 28cm and press in firmly. Smooth the surface. Cover tightly with foil and place pan on large baking tray. Bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and sprinkle over the cheese. Bake for a further 20 minutes.
