Muesli doesn’t have to be a means to an end — like any dish, it can be a delightful meal for a healthy and energising breakfast, and can even be a great treat for friends, family and the grandkids! This recipe has all the sugary goodness of our favourite cereals and the healthy additions needed to balance it out for a well-rounded and delectable bowl.
Ingredients
- 400g rolled oats
- 125g unsalted sunflower seeds
- 2tbsp sesame seeds
- 125g slivered almonds
- 120g shredded coconut
- 250ml maple syrup
- 4 tbsp vegetable oil
- 40g each dried fruit (we recommend cranberries, dried apricots and dried mango)
Method
- Heat your oven to 150 degrees Celsius.
- Mix your dry ingredients together.
- Heat the maple syrup and the oil.
- Pour the oil and maple syrup mixture over the dry ingredients and ensure they’re all covered.
- Spread thinly over two baking trays lined with baking paper.
- Bake for 30 mins.
- Stir occasionally.
- Transfer to an airtight container and add chopped dried fruits.
