Irresistible chocolate chip banana bread

Just when you thought banana bread couldn’t get any better, there’s this delicious chocolate chip version! With barely any extra effort and without breaking the budget, you can enjoy this slightly different and even tastier version of the classic recipe.

The flavours of chocolate and banana have always worked perfectly together so you’d be silly not to give this one a read hot go. But if you’re not a fan of dark chocolate or you’re looking for something a bit sweeter, try replacing it with milk or white chocolate to give it a completely different taste. Enjoy!


  • 2 cup self-raising flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup dark chocolate
  • 2 egg
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 3 banana ripe
  • 50 g butter melted


  1. Preheat oven to 180C degrees. Grease and line loaf pan with baking paper. Combine flour, sugar and chocolate chips in large bowl.
  2. Combine eggs, milk, banana and butter in separate bowl. Whisk together to combine. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients. Mix well until just combined (be careful not to over-mix).
  3. Spoon mixture into prepared pan. Bake for 45 minutes or until skewer inserted into centre comes out clean.
