We’ve had a lot of fun sharing this online distraction with Starts at 60 writers and community members. It’s far more compelling than it ought to be: insert your date of birth and find out what song was charting that day.

For everybody who got lucky (“Hound Dog” by Elvis Presley, “Moonlight Cocktail” by Glenn Miller), somebody else was stuck with something a little more embarrassing (“Woody Wood-Pecker” by Kay Kyser and His Orchestra).

And yet there is something oddly touching about learning the song that, statistically speaking, may have been one of the first you ever heard.

Playback.fm, the website that hosts it, also cheekily offers the opportunity to learn which song you may have been conceived to. Personally, we’ll pass on that one.

We all know these online quizzes are utterly meaningless and say nothing about who we truly are. Yet we could not resist the fun of it. Can you?
