Rocky Horror: A fun and naughty performance…

Jan 19, 2014

I was thrilled to go along to the Brisbane premiere of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

The entire performance was a hoot and Craig McLachlan in particular was fantastic as Frank-N-Furter.

When he entered the stage in corset and fishnet stockings the audience erupted. He looked absolutely amazing and very fit for an almost 50 year old! When he performed ‘’Sweet Transvestite” the audience went crazy and sang along with him. You could tell he was enjoying the performance as much as we were. A true professional, there were the odd remarks from someone in the crowd which he picked up on in a heartbeat turned it around to something hilarious and made the show so much more enjoyable

Christie Whelan Browne, who played Janet had a most beautiful voice and Tim Maddren who played Brad backed her up well.

The costumes of all performers were simply stunning. Overall it was a fun, naughty performance, which kept you singing along all the way through.

Another highlight was when “Rocky Horror” creator Richard O’Brien, came on during the encore. He looked like he could have still played “Riff Raff” as he was pale, skinny and creepy enough to be part of the performance!

Overall I found “Rocky Horror” to be a wonderful production and one that should not be missed.
