This reminds us of the good old days from our childhood. It’s a shame today’s kids won’t experience what we did, but we’re here to tell the tale!

Despite what the younger generation may think, we’re pretty great, and our experiences are proof of that.

To everyone who grew up in the 1930s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s:

First, we slept on our stomachs in cribs painted with bright lead-based paint. Yet, here we are; we made it!

We drank water straight from the garden hose instead of a bottle and shared a single soft drink among four friends.

We ate cupcakes, white bread, real butter, and bacon… Twinkies, Ding Dongs, and Kool-Aid sweetened with real white sugar. Yet, we weren’t overweight. Why is that?

Because we were always outside playing — that’s the reason!

We didn’t have PlayStations, Nintendos, or Xboxes. There were no video games, no 150 cable channels, no video movies or DVDs, no surround sound or CDs. Even a simple trip to get ice cream was a special event.

We fell out of trees, got cuts, broke bones and teeth, and there were no lawsuits resulting from these accidents.

Back then, if we broke the law, our parents wouldn’t bail us out. They agreed with the law!

People from our time became some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers, and inventors ever.

The last 50 to 85 years were full of new inventions and ideas.

We knew freedom, failure, success, and responsibility, and we learned how to handle them.

If you were born between 1935 and 1965... CONGRATULATIONS!
