The glitz and glamour of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival has continued with bold colours and statement head pieces making for a bright Oaks Day at Flemington Racecourse on Thursday.
While Melbourne Cup brought out more traditional racing outfits on Tuesday, fashion took a more vibrant turn with the likes of Australian jockey Michelle Payne and model Megan Gale wowing crowds. Looking absolutely gorgeous, Michelle wore a bright yellow and orange halter dress with a pleated skirt which she paired with simple nude heels and a gold and orange headpiece.
The 2015 Melbourne Cup winner kept jewellery to a minimum, opting for a gold bangle and dangly earrings to complete the look.
Meanwhile, 43-year-old Megan sported a stunning orange, purple and black floral dress which fell gracefully below her knees. The Aussie model stood tall in simple black heels, with the frock fitting in at the waist to show off her figure.
Not to take away from the colourful outfit, Megan chose a gold headband and black handbag with a gold handle. As for her make-up, the mother-of-two opted for a light pink lip and a swipe of blush to highlight her cheeks.
Keeping with the colourful theme, model and television presenter Jennifer Hawkins wore a stunning Alex Perry floral dress. The tight fitted, long-sleeved frock was the perfect fit for the former Miss Universe who was all smiles as she posed for photos at Flemington Racecourse.
Wearing her blonde locks in soft waves, the 34-year-old chose to forego any bold head pieces, choosing a diamond encrusted hair clip instead.

Other racegoers went with more quirky looks, including two women who sported massive flower headpieces. The duo were spotted walking along in matching blue dresses with the colourful hats making for a very bold fashion statement.
They certainly stood out from the crowd with bright yellow clutches and tassel earrings completing their colourful looks.

The sunny weather conditions were more to the liking of racegoers who braved the rain on Tuesday for Melbourne Cup with Julie Bishop leading the stream of famous faces earlier in the week.
Ignoring the heavy rainfall, the former foreign affairs minister, 62, transformed in a fitted multi-coloured floral dress that fell to her knees in a pleated skirt. The trendy v-neckline was completed with a thick collar and she added strappy black stilettos to the outfit to tower next to her partner David Panton at the event.
