Studio 10 star Sarah Harris mortified by ‘rude’ royal wedding condoms

Studio 10 host Sarah Harris was left red-faced when a live segment about commemorative royal wedding keepsakes took an unexpected x-rated turn over some commemorative condoms.

Sarah and her fellow panellists, Denise Drysdale, Joe Hildebrand and Angela Bishop, were discussing unusual royal memorabilia when they cut to an image of the naughty mementos. The ‘Crown Jewels Heritage Condoms’ were launched to mark the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on May 19 and come in a special box which features a portrait of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Not surprisingly, the panellists had plenty to say about the French letters which claim to offer couples a “royal union of pleasure”, but the X-rated puns all proved too much for Harris who took a breather from the saucy chat and lay her head on the desk.

The joke that seemed to tip the 36-year-old presenter over the edge was a rather rude comment from her colleague Bishop who commented that the thought behind the condoms was that “one day your Prince will come” before Drysdale burst out into a rendition of the song from Disney movie Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

A mortified Harris hid her face on the desk before declaring she was “dead” while Hildebrand visibly gasped in shock.

The condoms, which are being sold for just £10 (AU$17.68), are a far cry from the more traditional items that were released to mark the occasion, such as tea towels, tins of biscuits and mugs.

On their website they are described as being “sumptuous” and claim to be the “only condoms in the world to play an exclusive arrangement of God Save the Queen and The Star Spangled Banner”.

Harris joined Studio 10 as one of the founding panellists back in 2013, but the Network Ten show recently underwent some big changes when veteran hosts Ida Buttrose and Jessica Rowe announced they would no longer be a part of the daytime show.

Buttrose broke the news last month that she was leaving to spend more time with her grandchildren, while Rowe made the “very hard” decision to end her time on the show back in March. Rowe, 47, said she wanted to be more of a “present mother” to her two daughters when she shocked viewers by making the emotional announcement during the show. Bishop, along with comedian Denise Scott, were named as their replacements.

What do you think? Are you as embarrassed as Sarah about this rather unusual piece of memorabilia?
