It wasn’t just relationship secrets that the Princess of Wales held close to her chest.
According to high-end British handbag designer Anya Hindmarch, she also had a fashion trick that she used repeatedly but never mentioned.
The designer told British newspaper The Telegraph that Princess Diana was one of her first clients when she opened her Chelsea store in 1993. Hindmarch now has 51 stores around the world and her handbags sell for thousands of dollars.
“She was a very loyal customer and a lot of fun,” Hindmarch said. “She would come and see us with no bodyguards or any fuss.”
The beautiful royal’s bags of choice were clutches, Hindmarch recalled.
“We used to laugh when we designed what she called her ‘cleavage bags,’ little satin clutches which she would cover her cleavage with when she stepped out of cars,” she said,
The designer revealed the secret as part of an interview in 2009 but it just now has hit headlines in the media.
Although the Princess was known as Shy Di in the early days of her engagement to Prince Charles, she matured from a demure young girl into a fashion icon, all in front of the world’s press.
But she was clearly as smart as she was stylish, to have come up with such a clever way to outsmart the paparazzi.
