Thigh’s the limit! Martha Stewart, 78, rocks edgy black mini dress

Martha Stewart threw the fashion ‘rule book’ out of the window this week as she traded her usual classic style for something a little more daring. She may be nearing 80 but Martha proved she’s still got it as she showed off her legs in a 1960s-style mini dress.

The 78-year-old looked incredible in the black shift dress as she attended the Vanity Fair Oscars Party, following the star-studded awards ceremony, in Los Angeles on Sunday night. Martha showed off her toned legs in the frock, which came to a halt inches above her knees, and featured dramatic pirate-style sheer sleeves.

Martha paired the show-stopping dress with a pair of gold glittering stiletto heels and wore four rows of chunky golden pearls around her neck.

The American entrepreneur also shared several photographs from the evening on social media, including one of her sitting cross-legged at the Mercedes Benz Oscars viewing party, and another of her with Shark Tank host Robert Herjavec and his wife Kym.

Fans couldn’t believe the 78-year-old’s transformation and complimented her look on Instagram. One wrote: “Martha never ages! Looks like 30 something!” Another said: “I love that she wears short dresses!”

While another commented: “Martha, so classy, elegant and beautiful woman.”

Martha, who was a model in the 1960s, is known for her sense of style and fashion and, at the end of last year, she showed off the results of a recent makeover on social media.

Looking barely recognisable after swapping her trademark blonde bob for a choppier modern look, the 78-year-old oozed glamour as she posed for a photograph and declared that she was “ready for a slew of holiday parties”.

Martha pulled a sultry pose for the shot – which appeared to have been taken in a beauty salon at the luxury department store Bergdorf Goodman, as the US businesswoman was wearing a black robe over her a sophisticated black turtle neck jumper – as she leaned back in her chair with a slight smirk on her face.

It wasn’t just her hair that was different though as Martha also appeared to have had her make-up professionally done as she sported stunning smokey eyeshadow as well as a soft pink lip, while her skin looked absolutely flawless.
