Oleh Butchatsky

Author of Paris Tragics, Oleh likes to consider himself Paris' latter-day lover - a man whose European (Ukrainian) heritage and sixth-grade project about Paris fuelled a long-standing love affair with the city, second only to his hometown of Sydney. Four years of French study in secondary school, exposure to French art and literature, a painful journey attempting to master the language, and an appreciation for haute cuisine (so much so, he and his wife even thought of setting up a 'fine dining' restaurant in Parkes before someone beat them to the punch) provides proof of Oleh's brewing 'froginess', even though his first visit to Paris came later in life.
