In the Starts at 60 community we have hundreds of “SOFTs”. Our softs go all sorts of places at all times of year, some write about them and some just share their stories with our team, but our Single Older Female Travellers share one thing in comment – the desire to stay safe. No matter where in the world they are!

Mail Online Travel spoke to a large group of women from all over the world, of all ages who all love to travel. Exploring exotic countries is like a past time for these women, so they know just what it feels like to be unsafe.

They’ve put together a list of some of the most dangerous travel destinations for women.Things like physical safety, sexual safety, rights, treatment of women, acceptance of women in society and gender based treatment have all been considered to put together this list.
