Radio host Ray Hadley has treated fans to an adorable picture of his precious new granddaughter, Ella Rae Hadley. Ray’s son Daniel and his partner Cass welcomed their new baby on Monday, November 30, and doting granddad Ray wasted no time in showing her off on social media.

The 66-year-old shared an adorable photo of baby Ella Rae — who’s named after the 2GB host — on Facebook last Wednesday. In the sweet picture, the newborn can be seen sleeping peacefully while her older brother Noah, one, watches on adoringly.

“Noah Hadley hanging out with his new baby sister Ella,” Ray captioned the post.

Many commented on the happy news, with one writing, “Congratulations Ray on another precious grandchild. They are the greatest blessings in life.” Another added, “Great photo. Little Noah looks thrilled with his baby sister.”

Others commented on Noah’s family likeness, with one writing, “Wow! Noah looks just like poppy Ray. Beautiful photo.” Another said, “Noah looks so much like Poppy. Ella Rae is beautiful.”

It comes a day after the radio host wrapped up his show early, leaving fellow 2GB presenter Deborah Knight to cover, so he could rush off to an urgent medical appointment.

I’ve never done this before but as I told you last week I had a procedure done last Tuesday and I’ve been struggling ever since,” he told listeners at the time, according to The Daily Telegraph.

“I had a discussion with my specialist during a news break and he wanted me to come back in and see him immediately. I was hoping I could go for the next 35 minutes but I can’t. Deborah Knight has very kindly offered to assist me and she’s in the studio right now.”

Speaking about his health scare Tuesday morning, Ray told 2GB’s Ben Fordham that he should’ve followed the medical advice.

“You and I talk about men’s health and [how] older blokes don’t take advice and younger blokes don’t [want] advice and I’m now guilty,” he said to Ben. “The doctor told me to do certain things after surgery last Tuesday. One of them was to have the rest of the week off, which I didn’t do, and the other was to take it easy, which I find hard to do.

“I hit the wall about 9am yesterday and was struggling for a few hours … [My doctor] had surgery in the afternoon so he couldn’t see me, then he said, ‘get yourself over here by midday’.”
