Royal watchers will no doubt be overjoyed today after Princess Catherine announced that she is “making good progress” in her cancer battle and will be attending this year’s Trooping the Colour.

In her first official statement since revealing her cancer diagnosis earlier this year, Catherine expressed her gratitude to supporters for their encouraging words and provided an update on her recovery.

To accompany her latest message, a new photo of the Princess was released, showing her looking well in a jacket and jeans, standing under a tree on the Windsor estate.

“I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months. It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times,” she began.

“I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.

“My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months. On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home.”

Catherine went on to reveal that her improved health means she will make her first public appearance since last December.

She is expected to accompany her three children, Princes George, Prince Louis, and Princess Charlotte, in a carriage during Saturday’s Trooping the Colour.

Additionally, she will join King Charles, Queen Camilla, and other senior family members on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, the highlight of the event.

“I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet,” Catherine continued.

“I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal.

“Thank you so much for your continued understanding, and to all of you who have so bravely shared your stories with me.”

Royal fans couldn’t contain their excitement upon hearing that their beloved Princess Catherine is not only making progress in her health battle but will also be returning to public life.

“We love you so dear Princess Catherine! So lovely to see you! Please take all the time you need. Your health and family come first. Sending you so much love and healing wishes,” one person wrote.

“So wonderful to hear of your progress! May you continue on your healing journey and make appearances when it’s best for you!”

“So happy you are on the mend and wishing you a steady recovery. It’s great news to hear that you will be well enough to attend tomorrow’s event for the King,” commented another.

“We love and appreciate you Princess Catherine!”

“We’re all keeping you in our thoughts – sending all the good wishes for your continued recovery!!”
